Home on a hill
You may encounter a nice looking lot at the bottom of a hill or on a steep incline in the street. When cars and trucks go uphill, they tend to make more noise as the engine is working harder. Depending on the steepness of the hill the increased noise can be considerable.

Flag lots
A flag lot is a type referred to by its general shape. Imagine a piece of land shaped like a flag on a flag pole. In this case the base of the “pole” is the land that has frontage and the main body of the lot, the “flag”, is further back from the road.
Low lots
In pretty much any home building situation, one of the major potential issues will be with water and drainage. This is often not thought of or discussed because it’s really not all that fun to talk about. “Who cares? As long as I don’t have water running in the front door, everything’s fine.”
